TENURE TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY, West Virginia University School of Medicine
The Division of Exercise Physiology, West Virginia University School of Medicine (http://www.hsc.wvu.edu/som/ep) invites applications from outstanding candidates for one tenure track (12 month) position. Appointment will be made as an ASSISTANT PROFESSOR in Exercise Physiology. An appointment could be made at a higher rank and will depend upon the applicant’s qualifications. Applicants must hold a PhD, MD/PhD or equivalent in Exercise Physiology or a closely related field, and have postdoctoral training.
The successful candidate will contribute to both the teaching and the research missions of the Division of Exercise Physiology, which is ranked 7th nationally by the Chronicle of Higher Education. A competitive salary, startup funds, and research space and equipment will be provided commensurate with experience. Appointment at the level of an Assistant Professor will require evidence of relevant teaching experience and success/potential for obtaining extramural funding for research. Appointment as an Associate Professor will require evidence of extramural grant funding (e.g., NIH R01 or equivalent) and evidence of successful teaching and mentoring graduate students to degree completion. The appointment will begin on July 1, 2011.
