The School of Science at the University of Greenwich (Medway Campus) would like to invite applications for a Principal Lecturer in Strength & Conditioning and Biomechanics position at the Centre for Sports Sciences and Human Performance to contribute to the Teaching, Research and Enterprise agenda of the Centre, and to lead the new MSc Programme in Strength & Conditioning.

You will have a PhD in Sports Sciences, Exercise Sciences, Kinesiology, or related areas, and a detailed knowledge of the area of Strength & Conditioning and Biomechanics, and a specific Strength & Conditioning accreditation (UK ASCC and/or CSCS). Teaching experience in Research Methods and Statistics will be a very relevant background for the post. You will show evidence of published works, and excellent writing skills, team work abilities, working independently, statistical knowledge and good organisational skills. It is strongly desirable that you have prior experience in Strength & Conditioning coaching, exercise testing and prescription, and Biomechanics teaching, at least at undergraduate level. You should be able to work independently as well as co-operate with other members of the Centre's team.

You will be expected to take an extended role in shaping and co-ordinating aspects of the department's work in research, enterprise and teaching at a programme and suite level, work at a senior level in the school to promote the wider work of the department and School including: lead the growth and development of the Programme and Project Management aspects of the department and wider school's work; leading teams developing new methods and structures as part of suite of programme development within the department and across the wider school; taking key roles in supporting research, enterprise, teaching and learning situations managing development and leading promotional activities; being an effective communicator and advocate of methods and approaches across the department and wider school; coordinate, develop, employ and disseminate innovative techniques in research, enterprise and teaching & learning across the department, school and institution; managing and providing administration support for the department and wider school under the University's Learning and Quality structures; taking a leading role in developing and raising the departments national profile with particular reference to its expertise in the research, enterprise, teaching and learning aspects of project and programme management.

Salary scale AC4: £45,336 - £52,556 per annum
