Assistant/Associate Professor
The Department of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine of the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University, New York, NY is seeking candidates for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Duties will include teaching and advising students in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program and conducting clinical research. Candidates with expertise in exercise physiology and related areas are preferred. Successful candidates should have a record of successful research, and will be expected to seek and obtain extramural funding for research as a Principal Investigator.
Environment
The candidate will join an outstanding faculty of 11 full-time Physical Therapy faculty within the department, as well as faculty in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and in Occupational Therapy. Collaboration with established research faculty within and outside of the department are encouraged. The department includes a modern exercise laboratory, including full Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing capabilities and cardiovascular physiology measurement facilities. Columbia University Medical Center encompasses schools of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, and Public Health and a close association with New York-Presbyterian Hospital. The position is available on or after July 1, 2011
Qualifications
Candidates may include physical therapists, exercise physiologists, and individuals from other related fields. Candidates must have an advanced doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, ScD or equivalent) and evidence of research experience, scholarship, and teaching experience. Individuals from clinical disciplines should be eligible for licensure in New York.
