FACULTY JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Visiting Assistant Professor of Exercise Science
1. Full-time, temporary: Nine month appointment
2. Start mid-August, 2011 – mid-May, 2012
3. Salary: $38,000; medical and dental benefits

Qualifications (Minimum required)
1. Doctorate in Exercise Science or related field (ABD considered)
2. Primary expertise in Biomechanics
3. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in Biomechanics and associated areas of Exercise Science (areas of particular interest: Research Design, Motor Learning/Control)
4. Evidence of scholarly and professional activity
5. Demonstrated writing skills

Qualifications (Desirable)
1. Experience in working with undergraduate students, particularly in a Liberal Arts environment
2. Additional certifications/credentials from ACSM, NATABOC, NSCA, or APTA

Responsibilities
1. Teaching: Three undergraduate classes per semester - Biomechanics (with laboratory component); Research Design; Motor Learning/Control. This position has no advising or committee responsibilities.
