The Scandinavian Society for Biomaterials warmly welcomes you to the 5th Annual Meeting to be held in Uppsala, Sweden, 8-9th May 2012, hosted by the president of the society, Professor Håkan Engqvist, and co-workers.
Both invited and contributed podium and poster presentations will be on the agenda, and researchers from both inside and outside Scandinavia are welcome to submit a contribution.

Dear researchers,
the abstract deadline for the 5th Annual Meeting of the Scandinavian Society for Biomaterials is fast approaching - please submit your abstract by the 31st January. Further instructions can be found here: http://www.scsb.eu/Annual-meetings/ScSB-2012/Call-for-abstracts.
Keynote speakers are:
Prof. Marc Bohner, Head of Skeletal Substitutes at the RMS foundation, President of the Swiss Society for Biomaterials and GRIBOI and editor of Acta Biomaterialia.
Prof Maria Pau Ginebra, Head of the Biomaterials Division of the Research Center for Biomedical Engineering at UPC, Barcelona and in charge of the Laboratory of Nanotechnology of Biomaterials at the Centre for Research in Nanoengineering, Barcelona.
Prof. Liping Tang, Award-winning professor in Bioengineering at the University of Texas at Arlington with an expertise in the biological response to implants.
Dr Duncan Sutherland, Head of the Nanobiosurfaces group at the iNANO center at the University of Aarhus.
Prof. Jöns Hilborn, Head of the Division of Polymer Chemistry at Uppsala University and President of the World Tissue Engineering Society.
Just after this meeting, Uppsala will also be hosting the 2012 GRIBOI International Conference on Injectable Biomaterials, 10-12th May. Abstract deadline for the GRIBOI conference is the 15th February. For more information, please see the website: http://griboi2012.hemsida24.se/.
Just before and during the meeting, 6-9th May, there will an opportunity for PhD students to take part in a free course on Bioceramics, with a focus on calcium phosphate cements. More information can be found here: http://www.scsb.eu/Annual-meetings/ScSB-2012/PhD-Summer-School.
