    Tenure-Track Mechanical Engineering Position - Biomechanics, U of Dayton (Dayton, OH)

    To support our new Human Movement Biomechanics minor, the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Dayton is looking to hire another assistant professor. Biomechanics at the university has continued to grow, now with multiple faculty in our department collaborating closely with faculty in the Department of Physical Therapy and the Department of Health and Sports Science on various topics in the fields of clinical, sports, and occupational biomechanics.

    All applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline at the start of the contract, strong written communication skills, potential for teaching excellence particularly employing active learning pedagogies, and a demonstrated record of research and scholarship in human movement biomechanics that can compliment a departmental research strength in clinical biomechanics. Preferred are strong oral communication skills, a demonstrated record of effective teaching, a demonstrated commitment to service to the community, university and profession, and a demonstrated record of mentoring students from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate will have the potential to establish an externally-funded research program aligned with on-going efforts at the University of Dayton, the potential to be a recognized scholar in the field, and a commitment to breadth of education including educating the whole person in the Marianist tradition.
