Funded PhD Position, School of Sport and Exercise, Massey University, New Zealand
The School of Sport and Exercise at Massey University (Albany Campus, Auckland) is seeking a highly motivated student interested in pursuing a PhD in biomechanics, with a specific focus on accelerations, impact and joint loading. The University will meet the cost of enrolment and non-tuition fees and provide a concurrent opportunity to gain teaching experience (primarily in Sport Biomechanics I) through a paid graduate assistantship.
To be eligible for this opportunity you will have completed a masterís degree in exercise science, biomechanics, mechanical engineering, kinesiology, or related field; those with an engineering background are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to applicants with previous teaching experience in an English-speaking classroom (including teaching assistantships) and programming experience with Matlab software and other languages (C++, Java, etc).
Applicants must possess a strong work ethic and be able to work independently, as well as under supervision. Doctoral supervision will be primarily provided by Drs Sarah Shultz and Philip Fink.
