Position summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Sports Medicine Research Institute is seeking a research associate in the department of Sports Medicine. The research associate will participate in developing, designing and implementing research projects within OSU Sports Medicine; administers and conducts scientific experiments and tests; independently reproduces, evaluates, researches and improves techniques and adapt new methods to existing procedures; researches current state of science in injury mechanisms, rehabilitation from injury and relationships to systems biomechanics and the use of biofeedback for the management of musculoskeletal conditions; develops and evaluates biomechanical models and computer based systems to measure human movement; develops web based data analysis tools using Mat lab scripts and additional software packages; performs relational database development; collects and processes 3-D motion analysis data; assists with grant development; performs general computer troubleshooting as needed.

Education and experience

Master's degree in Biomedical, Biomedical Engineering or a related program or an equivalent combination of education and experience; ability to translate, adapt and apply academic and/or practical knowledge to the conduct of engineering research required; at least one year working experience specializing in gait and motion analysis required; relational database development and management experience preferred; experience in an engineering research capacity desired. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
