Dear fellownetters,

May be the following citation of Rolf Landauer is of interest. He was, a
physicist, who achieved some major discoveries in the field of complex
systems.

"A complex system is exactly that; there are many things going on
simultaneously. If you search carefully, you can find your favorite toy:
fractals, chaos, self-organized criticality, phase transition analogies,
Lotka-Volterra predator-prey oscillations, etc., in some corner, in a
relatively well developed and isolated way. But do not expect any single
simple insight to explain it all."

Cited after Philip Ball, 2000. The self-made tapestry. Pattern formation
in nature, p. 252, Oxford university Press

Ciao, Johannes
