Orthopaedic Biomechanics

Funding is available for students wishing to pursue doctoral study in the
field of orthopaedic biomechanics at the University of Louisville's Department
of Mechanical Engineering in conjunction with the Orthopaedic Bioengineering
Laboratory. Specific areas of interest are orthopaedic trauma, spine
biomechanics, fracture fixation techniques, and artificial joints. The
department offers study towards a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering with
concentration in one of two available areas: biomechanical engineering or
advanced product development. Individuals wishing to pursue this opportunity
should contact Dr. Willliam P. Hnat in the Department of Mechanical
Engineering or Dr. Michael J. Voor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
