Professor Robert K. (Bob) Jensen died peacefully at home on Wednesday,
September 20 after a long battle with cancer.

Bob is well known for his work on body segment parameters and BSP modelling.
Originally from Perth, Western Australia, he graduated with a PhD in
biomechanics from the University of Alberta in the early 1970ís, was the
founding president of the Canadian Society of Biomechanics and spent most of
his working life at Laurentian University, in Sudbury, Canada.

The last time I saw Bob was after the ISB meeting in Calgary last year. Iíd
gone to Sudbury to visit and, while he was bedridden after the last of his
operations, he was as bright, cheerful, witty and optimistic as ever. He
savoured a glass of wine and we chuckled over an old joke about viewing
sunsets through a good red wine. He plied me with endless questions about
the ISB conference and what various people were doing.

Bob retained that humour, warmth and dignity to the end. Iím sure I speak
for many others in the biomechanics community when I say our thoughts are
with Bobís wife Francine and his children Mike, Russell, Kristen and Megan,
daughters-in-law Lisa and Tracy and grandson Ashton. We, too, will miss a
fine man and valued colleague.
