Post-Doctoral Position
Cell and Tissue Bioengineering
Laboratory for Soft Tissue Research, Hospital for Special Surgery,
New York City

The Laboratory for Soft Tissue Research has a immediate opening for
a 1-2 year post-doctoral candidate to study the molecular and cellular
mechanisms involved in the injury and repair of soft tissues (ligament and
cartilage). The laboratory is also involved in the development of novel
biological and bioengineering approaches for the replacement and repair of
damaged soft tissues. Interested candidates should have a Ph.D. in
bioengineering or a closely related field (e.g., cell biology/biochemistry,
chemical engineering, biophysics). Expertise in cell and tissue engineering
are desirable. The laboratory is multidisciplinary with expertise in
biochemistry, immunohistochemistry, cell physiology and bioengineering, and
is affiliated with the Cornell University Medical College, the Center for
Biomedical Engineering at the City College of New York, and Dept of Physics
at Fordham University. Because of the immediacy of the post-doctoral
position the starting date must be no later than the end of 2000.
Applicants also must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent residency. A
curriculum vitae and the names, telephone number and email addresses of
three references should be sent to (email or postal):
