The Division of Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines invites
applications for a junior faculty position in bioengineering. The
individual should have a Ph.D. in bioengineering or a closely related field
and a strong interest in teaching and research. The Colorado School of
Mines is expanding its curriculum and research focus into the areas of
Bioengineering and Life Sciences as a result of a State of Colorado
initiative. CSM has established strong collaborations with several medical
centers in the Denver area, through the CSM/NSF Industry/University Research
Center for Intelligent Biomedical Devices and Musculoskeletal Systems (see
http://www.mines.edu/Research/centers/ibdms.shtml). Areas of interest
include implant engineering, biomedical devices, orthopedics, biosensors and
bioinstrumentation, bio-imaging and signal processing, bionics,
biomechanics, and sensory augmentation.

The Division of Engineering offers a nontraditional, ABET accredited
undergraduate degree in Engineering. It also offers graduate M.S. and Ph.D.
programs in Engineering Systems. All programs are interdisciplinary. The
undergraduate program offers specialties in Civil, Electrical,
Environmental, and Mechanical Engineering. At the graduate level, the
program seeks depth at the interfaces between the more traditional
engineering disciplines. Interdisciplinary collaboration across campus is
also strongly encouraged. For more information about the division see
http://egweb.mines.edu/.

Applicants should send their curriculum vitae, a statement of research and
teaching interests, and the names of at least three professional references
