We are looking for a graduate engineer to work on the design,
development and testing of a new spinal implant system.
This is a Teaching Company Scheme (TCS, see below) with
Finsbury (Development) Ltd, an orthopaedic company based in
Surrey, UK and the successful applicant would spend most of their
time working there, with some periods working here in Cardiff.
Applicants should have a good first degree in mechanical
engineering or a related subject; experience of design, especially of
medical devices, CAD, FEM, motion analysis or mechanical testing
would all be useful but are not essential. More important are
initiative and ingenuity, and the ability to work independantly and to
plan and manage the project which will involve a wide variety of work
including all the areas mentioned above.
The duration of the project will be three years, and there will be the
opportunity to enrol for a PhD.
Starting salary is approximately 16,128, with a possibility of
negotiating a higher salary for outstanding applicants.
Applicants will need to be eligible to live and work in the UK.
