Final Reminder:

Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery
February 7th ? 10th, 2001
Davos, Switzerland

The CAOS-International Symposium is the premier international
forum on the use of a new breed of computer based tools in
orthopaedic surgery. CAOS - 2001 will be the 1st Annual
Meeting of the International Society for Computer Assisted
Surgery (CAOS - International). The Society was founded by
more then 200 members in 2000 to bring together those
individuals throughout the world, who, by their contributions
and activities both in the area of research and clinical study
were interested in the computer based technologies for
orthopaedic surgery. Its further purpose is to serve as a
forum for the exchange of information of both an investigative
and clinical nature. This will be accomplished by holding
annual meetings throughout the world.

The 1st Annual Scientific Meeting of CAOS - International will
continue with the well-established format of the past five
CAOS - Symposia. The meeting has been extended to four days
to allow break out discussion time. In addition it will
include an exciting social program for delegates and their
partners. CAOS 2001 will be held in Davos, Switzerland. It
will continue the tradition of multi-speciality,
interdisciplinary symposia presenting the most recent
innovations in this rapidly evolving field. CAOS is for
physicians, surgeons, health care providers, researchers,
entrepreneurs, educators, and investors interested in these
computer based technologies.

The objectives of the symposium are to present the most
current thinking on the impact of computer assisted surgical
techniques on the daily clinical and surgical routine, to
educate surgeons in the use of these techniques, and to
promote a new partnership between surgeons and technologists
as a necessary basis for the successful hospital integration
of computer assisted surgery systems.

The format at the meeting will consist of invited lectures
presented by an internationally recognized faculty as well as
presentations of submitted papers reviewed by a distinguished
program committee. It will provide ample opportunity for
personal interaction with faculty and other symposium
participants and will be an unique educational experience for
practicing orthopaedic surgeons. In ten hands-on workshops,
leading experts in the field will present state-of-the-art CAS
systems to groups of participants.

The final program for the symposium can be downloaded at:

The CAOS-Symposium is known as a premier interactive forum on
orthopaedic surgery and interactive computer based
technologies. Consequently, an industrial exhibition is
organized which will demonstrate hands-on technology for
surgical planning, simulation, execution, and documentation,
covering a wide range of recent developments in this area. The
exhibits will be available to the participants for the whole
duration of the conference.
