Tenure Track Faculty Position
Center for Biomedical Engineering
University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY

Area of expertise: Neural Engineering or Bone Tissue Engineering

The Center for Biomedical Engineering at the University of Kentucky is
soliciting applications from outstanding candidates for a tenure track
position at the Assistant Professor level. We strongly encourage
applications from candidates with research interests in one of two areas
that we have identified as having strong growth opportunities at the
University of Kentucky: neural engineering and bone tissue engineering.
Experience in implantable sensors and devices would be desirable.

The Center for BME offers programs for the MS and PhD degrees in
Biomedical Engineering as well as a newly-formed program for a
Professional Masters Degree in Biomedical Engineering. The new faculty
member will be encouraged to participate in multi-disciplinary
educational programs and to collaborate with researchers from the
University of Kentucky Medical Center and the College of Engineering,
which are in close proximity to the Center for BME. Large
multi-disciplinary research groups in spinal cord and head injury, bone
repair and regeneration, and sensor technology will provide unique
opportunities for the successful applicant.

The successful applicant will have a doctoral degree in Biomedical
Engineering or a related discipline and will be expected to teach
graduate level courses in BME that would include courses in his/her area
of expertise. S/he should have demonstrated the potential to establish
a strong research program and to contribute to collaborative
multi-investigator research projects. The University of Kentucky is an
equal opportunity/Affirmative Action employer and complies with the
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Females, racial minorities,
and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
