A Full time research position is available for a Research Physical Therapist
to join the internationally recognized Balance Disorders Laboratory headed
by Dr. Fay Horak at the Neurological Sciences Institute of OHSU in Portland,

The successful applicant will assist with motor control studies of postural
equilibrium and orientation in stance and gait. Current projects
investigate balance disorders related to aging, Parkinsonšs disease,
cerebellar disorders, vestibular disorders, and back pain, as well as the
application of findings to rehabilitation * using state of the art equipment
to determine motor activities, 3D movements, joint torques, and ground
reaction forces.
Responsibilities: Performing clinical assessments of balance, motor
control, and sensory function; coordination of patient scheduling and
patient care during experiments; assisting with experimental data
collection, data analysis and laboratory supply management.
Qualifications: A Physical Therapy degree from an accredited school,
research M.S. degree or research experience, and minimum of 3 years clinical
practice with neurological emphasis required. Experience with computer
spreadsheets, databases, programming desirable.
