View Full Version : Phalanx BMD associated with hand/wrist BMD?

Hello all:

Do accuDEXA measurements (BMD of the middle phalanx) accurately represent bone properties of the whole hand or wrist? I'm specifically looking for a relationship between bone properties of the wrist and those of the phalanges (i.e., BMD or BMC). I've conducted a literature search on this possible relationship, but have only found a relationship between metacarpals and the wrist (Braillon et al., 1998). I hope someone can help me out.

Thanks and take care.
