Assistant Professor of Clinical Biomechanics
Department of Health and Exercise Science
Colorado State University

Position: Assistant Professor-Tenure Track

Appointment: Nine-month appointment starting date - August
2002

Qualifications: Doctorate in Biomechanics or related field required;
significant post-doctoral experience desired; evidence of publication in
general area of clinical biomechanics required; evidence of, or
potential for, successful grant procurement required; University-level
teaching experience desired.

Responsibilities: Teach relevant undergraduate and graduate
courses for students preparing for clinical and health related careers;
conduct independent and collaborative research in area of clinical
biomechanics and/or related areas (e.g. neural control of movement);
aggressively seek extramural funding; direct student research;
participate in student advisement; and perform relevant University and
professional service.

The successful candidate will have outstanding departmental
support and potential for collaborative opportunities with Biomedical
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Music Therapy, Veterinary
Medicine/Equine Sciences, and the local medical community. It is
anticipated that this position will serve as a unifying force to bring
together, enhance, and compliment clinical biomechanics research across
disciplines. Further, it is expected that a nationally recognized
funded research program and clinical biomechanics laboratory will be
developed.

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications.

Description: Colorado State University is located in Fort Collins,
which is a community of approximately 100,000 located 65 miles north of
Denver and 45 miles south of Cheyenne, WY. Located at the foot of the
Rocky Mountains, Fort Collins is within an hour's drive of many major
recreational areas. A faculty of over 1,500 guides approximately 22,500
students enrolled in professional, graduate and undergraduate programs.
The Department of Health and Exercise Science has 650 undergraduate
majors and 35 M.S. graduate students. The faculty is committed to
developing a department of excellence grounded in science and the
discovery process. Recent laboratory additions and remodeling provide
modern classroom and research facilities. Extramural grant funding is
in excess of $1million supporting cutting edge human research in many
