The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Columbia
University is
looking for a motivated individual to fill a
postdoctoral position in the
Bone Bioengineering Laboratory starting immediately.
The qualified
person should have a Ph.D. or equivalent in the field
of Biomedical
Engineering or Biomechanics and has a strong interest
in the interface of
biology and biomechanics of bone. Knowledge of animal
and cellular/molecular biology will be a plus. The
focus of the Bone
Bioengineering Laboratory is on the in vivo and in
vitro studies of bone
cell response to mechanical and hormone stimuli. The
person to be
recruited is expected to be a part of the team with
several Biomedical
Engineering and bone biology faculty members, and both
graduate and
undergraduate students. The candidate is expected to
develop his/her
independent research initiatives in the area of bone
bioengineering. The
initial appointment will be for one year and is
renewable for second and
