1) Associate Professorship in Human Biomechanics and Motor Control

University of Copenhagen
Institute of Exercise and Sport Sciences
At the Institute of Exercise and Sport Sciences, University of Copenhagen,
Department of Human Physiology, a position as associate professor in Human
Biomechanics and Motor Control is available for appointment from 1 August
2002, or as soon as possible after that date.

The position is permanent and involves research and teaching within the
field of biomechanics and motor control in humans. Applicants should have
documented research qualifications in biomechanics including functional
anatomy and motor control in relation to human movements in e.g. sport,
physical activity, ergonomics or rehabilitation.
The associate professor must be prepared to teach human biomechanics at all
levels at the institute, and further to prepare and participate in exams and
carry out administrative duties as well, and attend to other tasks according
to decisions of the institute. The appointment includes teaching obligations
in functional anatomy for students of physical education and medicine in
collaboration with the Department of Medical Anatomy C, Panum Institute,
University of Copenhagen.

The research tasks include the applicant's own scientific work and
collaboration with ongoing research and development projects in the
institute within the field

By appointment importance will be attached to the applicant's degree of
documented scientific production at an international level and teaching
qualifications. For further reference please consult the present Ministerial
Circular on Job Structure.

Terms of appointment and payment according to the agreement between the
Ministry of Finance and AC (The Danish Confederation of Professional
Associations) on Academics in the State. In addition to the
salary based on seniority, the successful applicant will receive an annual
pensionable increment of DKK 68,694.90.

The application must be in English and include:
* A curriculum vitae.
* A complete list of publications with indication of which papers the
applicant considers particularly relevant (max. 10).
* 3 copies of each of the selected papers considered particularly
relevant together with (as for publications with more than one author): A
statement of which part of the work, which the applicant is responsible for.

* Documentation for teaching experience and other qualifications.
It should be noted that:
* the applicants will be notified about the composition of the
assessment committee
* The assessment committee may require supplementary documentation,
which the applicant must then provide.
* The assessment committee may include any publication on the
publication list in the assessment .
* Letters of recommendation are not regarded as scientific material on
which the assessment may be based. However they may be taken into account
when the Dean decides to whom to offer the position.
* The applicants may be summoned for an interview and/or requested to
give a trial lecture.
* When the assessment committee's report is submitted, each applicant
will receive only the part of the report relating to him/herself, as
information about the other applicants according to the rules is
confidential and may not be revealed to other applicants.
It should also be noted that if the applicants want their publications and
other material returned by mail, it will be sent C.O.D.

It is a condition for the appointment, that the successful applicant within
2 years master Danish.

2) Professorship in Human Motor Control and Biomechanics

Institute of Exercise and Sport Sciences, Copenhagen University

At the Institute of Exercise and Sport Sciences, Department of Human
Physiology a position as professor in Human Motor Control and Biomechanics
is open to appointment from September 1, 2002.or as soon as possible
thereafter.

The position is permanent and involves research and teaching within the
field of human Motor Control and Biomechanics. Applicants must have a
strong research background in neurophysiology including motor control and
motor learning in relation to human motor skills and performance in sport,
physical activity, ergonomics and in rehabilitation. It is preferable if the
applicant is also scientifically qualified in other aspects of human
biomechanics.

In addition to research, the position includes research management and
development as well as supervision of research fellows, assistant professors
and assessment work. Furthermore the professor must teach, as well as
prepare and participate in exams and carry out administrative duties and
attend to other tasks according to decisions of the institute. The professor
is expected to be supportive of ongoing research and development at the
institute within the field.

The research tasks include the applicant's own scientific work, research
management and encouragement of the scientific development of the subject,
and education of research fellows, including tutorials/supervision of
assistant professors and carry out assessment work. In addition to this the
professor must teach, as well as prepare and participate in exams and attend
to other tasks according to the decision of the institute.

By appointment decisive importance will be attached to the applicant's
degree of documented scientific production at an international level,
including the contribution to the development of the field, - just as
importance is attached to the assessment of the applicant's conduct of
research management, other management functions and teaching qualifications.

Employment takes place in pursuance to agreement between the Danish Ministry
of Finance and AC (The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
Payment in salary scale 37 at the amount of DKK 439,803,00 annually. In
addition to this, the University of Copenhagen is willing to grant a
supplement at the amount of DKK 43,362.96 annually as per 1. October 2001.
