POST-DOCTORAL FELLOW
SKELETAL MECHANOBIOLOGY

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Division of Bone and Mineral
Diseases of Washington University have an immediate opening for a
post-doctoral fellow in the area of skeletal mechanobiology. Research
opportunities include the characterization of the mechanical and
morphological properties of bone from animals with altered bone metabolism
and the application of in vivo loading models for investigating the
response of bone to mechanical stimuli. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. and
have expertise in either mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering or
bone biology. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a
strong background in one of these areas to develop expertise in the others,
and to become an integral member of an multidisciplinary orthopaedic
research laboratory at a major medical center. The fellowship is for a
period of one year with the possibility for a one year renewal. Applicants
