Subject: Position Announcement

The Medical College of Wisconsin, Dept of Neurosurgery
Neuroscience and Biomechanics Research Laboratories

This is an announcement of an available position at the Post Doctoral or
Research Assistant Professor Level for a Biomedical Engineer in the
Department of Neurosurgery.

Candidates must have an earned doctorate in biomechanics, bioengineering, or
mechanical engineering. We invite applications from qualified candidates
for a research position. Depending on the qualifications and related
experience of the applicant, the position will be at the level of either a
Post Doctoral Scholar or a Research Assistant Professor.

There are several new projects that this position will be focused on. A
study on penetrating traumatic brain injury will use physical models,
retrospective patient information, and a novel computer finite element model
to derive new information. Additional projects involve experimental and
finite element computer modeling studies centered around spinal
biomechanics. Candidates should have direct experience in finite element
modeling and preferably some experience in conducting experimental
investigations. A mentoring work environment is provided where the
candidate will have opportunities for professional development. The
candidate will be expected to generate grant applications and work within a
multi-disciplinary group including both clinical and basic science faculty.
A competitive salary and attractive benefits package will be offered.
