The Research Lab of the Dept. of Trauma and Reconstructive
Surgery at the Charite Hospital of Berlin has a three-year
opening for a Post Doc starting April/May 2002.

We are a young and dynamic research laboratory with expertise
in areas such as fracture healing, musculo-skeletal loading
and soft tissue trauma.

The project concerns the biological reactions of bone under
defined mechanical conditions. It involves experimental
analysis of fracture healing including histology, immunhistology
and histomorphometric analysis.

The selected candidate will have access to a state-of-the-art
histology lab, image analysis systems and cell biology lab. In
addition, a biomechanical setting (testing machine and computer
facilities) are also available. Trained technicians ensure an
outstanding research environment.

We expect a background (Ph.D.) in veterinary medicine or biology
and expierence in histology. You should be interested to work in
a team in cutting egde projects concentrating on biological processes.
Within the lab, your partners are medical doctors, engineers
and biologists.

Knowledge of the German language is not necessarily required
but foreigners are expected to learn German during their stay.
The payment is according to German law (BAT IIa, approx. 2.500,-
per month after tax).
