The Department Orthopaedics at Brown Medical School located within
Rhode Island Hospital is seeking applicants for a Post-Doctoral
position in Bioengineering. The position is funded by the NIH, in
collaboration with the Brown Computer Science Department, for the
study of the in vivo kinematics and soft tissue mechanics of the
carpal bones of the wrist among various normal and injured
populations. The technology utilized in this study is also being
applied to the study of the spine and the foot. The initial position
is for one year, with the possibility of reappointment. Expertise
in image analysis and mechanics (e.g. rigid body kinematics and soft
tissue modeling) is essential. Programming capabilities in Matlab
and C++ (Open Inventor) is also a requirement.
