Dear Subscribers:

I will be using the book "Biomechanics and Motor Control of Human Movement"
by David A. Winter for a new bioengineering class I will be teaching in the
fall. After much debate, my main reasons for choosing it are that I really
like the format and the flow of this textbook and that I couldn't find an
alternative textbook despite spending a considerable amount of time
searching for and looking at others. However, as has been mentioned on this
email list before, this textbook has numerous errors that are frustrating
to students, especially for students whose backgrounds is not engineering.

To alleviate my students' confusions I would like to include in my course
material a complete list of these errors. I've already consulted with
several colleagues as well as the author himself and have determined that a
list currently does not seem to exist. Therefore, with your help and the
permission of the author, I would like to compile such a list of errors
myself. If you would like to contribute, please send me the following
information for each error you would like to report:
- Edition of the book you are working with
- Page number where the error is
- Nature of the error
- Suggested correction
I would also appreciate it if you could identify yourself (name, title and
position) and let me know what you use the book for (textbook for a class
on ..., research, general reference, or other). I will of course post a
summary of all the replies, i.e., the complete list of errors I will have
