Doctoral Scholarship

A doctoral scholarship of a minimum of $16,000 per year is available for a
M.Sc. graduate to work in Ergonomics Research Laboratory of the University
of Alberta, Edmonton under the supervision of Professor Shrawan Kumar from
September 2002. Graduates of Masters program (experience/interest in
electromyography) of spinal muscles from rehabilitation, kinesiology or
related fields should apply.

The successful candidate will be enrolled in Ph.D. Rehab Science Program and
work with an established and dynamic group. The group members have
background in ergonomics, medicine, mathematical and engineering sciences.
Starting September 2002, there will be a complement of 5 Ph.D. Students, 2
M.Sc. students, 1 Post-doctoral Fellow and a research engineer in this
laboratory. The laboratory is equipped with electromyography, motion
analysis, force analysis and other specially designed and developed research
tools. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to work with
physicians, ergonomists, engineers, mathematicians and statisticians
constituting a rich learning environment.

Applicants will have to meet the admission requirement of the Faculty of
Graduate Studies and Research at the University of Alberta.
