Dear Subscriber

I am a part time PhD student at the BIAD, University of Central England investigating seating for elderly people. The research so far has resulted in design guidelines for developing seating for disabled and elderly people. These design guidelines will be used to design, develop, prototype and test a fully adjustable seating rig with, for example adjustable seat height, width, rake, depth, backrest height, width, adjustable lateral curve, backrest inclination, seat to backrest angle, headrest, and armrests. By using combinations of existing and novel seating accessories and by the adjustment of the seating rig to meet the design criteria for specific disabilities, the intention is to develop innovative design solutions.

Can anyone please help I am now at the design stage and am my intention to develop (borrow or purchase) a test rig if anyone can help with information on references, names, companies that have been involved with seating test rigs I would be extremely grateful.

Best regards
Tina
