Dear friends:

Please, mark your calendars for the Fourth meeting "Progress in Motor Control", which will continue the tradition of previous meetings in 1996 and 1999 on the central campus of the Pennsylvania State University and in 2001 in Montreal. The meeting will be held in Caen, France on August 20-23, 2003. The Organizing Committee is chaired by Professor Francis Lestienne.

Please, visit the web-site of the meeting.
Hope to see you in Normandy in 2003!

Progress in Motor Control IV:
Motor Control and Learning over the Life Span

Université de Caen Basse-Normandie (France)

August 20-23, 2003

The web-site of the meeting: http://www.pmciv.unicaen.fr

Progress in Motor Control - IV will include 14 invited presentations. All invited speakers have already confirmed their participation (see the list of invited speakers on the congress website).

In addition, there will be two poster sessions (2.30 hours each). Free oral communications will be selected from those submitted in response to this Call for Papers. These communications will take place within a symposium "Theoretical Approaches to the Study of Motor Control: The legacy of Nikolai Bernstein and Jules-Henri Poincaré".

Furthermore, 2 panels will be organized on the topics: "Complexity and the dynamic of perception and action" and on "What does the nervous system actually learn - kinematics, forces, or something else?". The discussion within these panels will not be totally self-organized, but constrained by a set of questions (identical for each participant), given to the participants before the conference and available on the congress website

Deadline for abstract submission (Poster and Symposium) March 1st, 2003 (see abstract submission rules on the congress website).

We hope to keep registration fee as low as possible as we did for previous meeting (information on registration and accommodations can also be found on the congress website).
