This is not a duplicate of the biomechanics position. We have two
different positions we are advertising at Brigham Young University.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF FACULTY POSITION
Brigham Young University
Department of Physical Education

A tenure-track faculty position in Exercise Science is available in the
Department of Physical Education at Brigham Young University beginning
fall semester 2003. The Department of Physical Education has
undergraduate majors in Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Fitness and
Wellness, and Pedagogy. Masters and Doctoral degrees are offered in
Exercise Science with emphases in Exercise Physiology, Health Promotion,
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Pedagogy.

A newly renovated 10,000 sq. ft. Human Performance Research Center is
available to conduct applied and basic individual research and pursue
collaborative efforts. The research center houses exercise physiology,
exercise biochemistry, body composition, biomechanics, therapeutic
modalities laboratories, and public health.

Candidate should have an established or promising research agenda that
will involve mentoring experiences for undergraduate students and
strengthen the Exercise Science graduate program. Applicants are
expected to be currently involved or willing to be involved in national
and regional professional organizations (e.g., American College of
Sports Medicine, American Physiological Society).

Responsibilities


C Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in exercise
physiology
C Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the
department.
C Serve, when appointed, on department, college and/or
university committees.
C Conduct and publish research in area(s) of specialization and
seek external funding.
Qualifications
C Earned doctorate with an emphasis in exercise physiology.
C Record of published research and grantsmanship.
C Successful record of teaching.
C Specialization in human cardiovascular physiology, skeletal
muscle metabolism, environmental physiology, or related area(s) are
sought.

Salary and Rank is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
