We will be opening a research staff position in the Department of Physical
Therapy, College of Applied Health Sciences, University of Illinois at Chicago,
with an anticipated starting date of March 1, 2003. The length of this
appointment is for multiple years. The focus of the project is to develop and
validate computer models that can be used to simulate the biomechanical and
neuromuscular limitations of a person to terminate movement while maintaining

Description: Responsibilities will include formulating mathematical equations
for dynamic model, computer simulation/optimization for movement termination
and balance recovery. Responsibilities may also include assisting with
experiment verification of balance control theories that requires data
collection, processing and analysis. Individual is encouraged to disseminate
research findings and to develop new projects.

Qualifications: Applicants should have a doctoral degree with experience in
computational biomechanics in modeling and simulation of human movement, or in
experimental biomechanics related to the control of balance.

Contact: Send recent CV, statement of research goals and interests, and the
names, addresses, phone or e-mail addresses of three or four individuals to be
contacted for references to:
