POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT





Position: Assistant Professor of Safety with Department of Health and Exercise Science

(nine month tenure-track position beginning August 1, 2003).



Qualifications: Required - Earned doctorate in safety, human factors engineering or a related health discipline; interest in teaching and advising; evidence of scholarly productivity in the field of safety; and commitment to obtaining extramural support for research.

Desired - A research focus on injury prevention and assessment with regard to health protection of special populations (special needs groups, adolescents, high-risk workers, athletes); and interest in intervention-oriented measurement studies associated with injury prevention and/or biomedical engineering.



Responsibilities: Teach a variety of safety and health protection related courses included in the M.S. in Safety Program. Individual will advise majors and direct graduate student research; conduct and publish research; and engage in grant writing. The individual filling this position will be expected to participate in research, service and training programs of the Safety Center.

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
