Thank you to all who responded to my email about software/code for helical
axis calculation. Everyone who responded suggested a Matlab file available
on the ISB website as part of the KineMat toolbox written by Christoph
Reinschmidt and Ton van den Bogert. The mfile is called screw.m. The link
is: http://www.isbweb.org/software/movanal/kinemat/index.html

Thanks again.

Hello Biomch-L Readers,
My name is Maria Pasquale and I am a graduate student in Bioengineering. I
am writing to ask if anyone knows of any software/code available that is
able to calculate the translations and rotations of a body using the
helical axis method. I am especially interested in translations as it is
applied to the shoulder joint. I am aware of the literature as such by
Engin, AE (1980), Wotring, HJ (1985), and the original references by
Kinzel, GL (1972) and Spoor, CW (1980), which describes these methods,
however I was hoping there was some software/code available before I embark
on trying to write some code myself through Matlab. I will post all
replies promptly, thanks in advance!!

Sincerely,
Maria Pasquale
