View Full Version : Sync pulse with LDM300C sport - query.

A question regarding Jenoptiks I.R. Laser Distance Measurement Module -
LDM300C Sport.

I'm interested in combining (superimposing) an additional
external signal pulse together with LDM-300's data.
(Incidentally, this unit supersedes the older LAVEG binocular version).
This extra pulse would essentially act as an "event marker" and come
from say, a light gate, for example.

I've carried out some preliminary tests and found the format and
protocol of the data-stream to be a decimalised 8-bit distance value
(in meters) with the stop bit at the front end - sounds simple enough.

It looks to me like something that an I/O card and a bit of program
code such as LabView should be able to handle. But before I jump the
gun (no pun intended), has anyone carried out a similar task before with
this unit or even with the LAVEG unit, and if so, what were your
findings ?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Kind regards,
