The Research Lab of the Dept. of Trauma and Reconstructive
Surgery at the Charite Hospital of Berlin has a three-year
opening for a Post Doc starting April/May 2003.

We are a young and dynamic research laboratory with expertise
in areas such as musculo-skeletal loading, bone healing and
joint replacement.

The project concerns the mechanical boundary conditions during
bone healing in vivo. It involves experimental analyses of
fracture healing including measurements of fracture gap movements
and analytical analyses of bone straining.

The selected candidate will have access to a state-of-the-art
biomechanical and computational lab. In addition, a histology
lab and cell biological lab are also available. Trained
technicians ensure an outstanding research environment.

We expect a background (Ph.D.) in engineering and experience in
biomechanics. You should be interested to work in a team in
cutting edge projects concentrating on mechanical environment
of biological processes. Within the lab, your partners are
medical doctors, engineers and biologists.

Knowledge of the German language is not necessarily required
but foreigners are expected to learn German during their stay.
The payment is according to German law (BAT IIa).

Interested applicants should submit their CV including publications
and records on research experience as well as references to:
