Orthopaedic Bioengineering Laboratory

Funding is available for students wishing to pursue doctoral study in
the field of orthopaedic biomechanics in the Orthopaedic Bioengineering
Laboratory at the University of Louisville.

The laboratory specializes in mechanical testing, finite element
analysis, animal models, and high resolution computed tomography. We
are currently developing a rabbit model for in vivo micro-CT imaging of
bone. Study areas that will use this model include osteoporosis,
fracture healing, bone graft substitutes, and implant interfaces.

In conjunction with the Department of Mechanical Engineering students
will pursue a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering with concentration
in one of two available areas: biomechanics or advanced product
development.

Individuals wishing to pursue this opportunity should contact Dr. Voor
in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Please refer to
www.louisville.edu for more information on the University of
Louisville.
