Rehabilitation Research Postdoctoral Fellowship

Marquette University & the Medical College of Wisconsin

Marquette University and the Medical College of Wisconsin have an additional new opening for a post-doctoral fellow funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education (NIDRR). The training program is for 18 - 24 months with supplemental funding from an appropriate research grant. The program is structured to provide cross-disciplinary training in research, publication and grantsmanship skills. The fellow will be matched with both Ph.D. and M.D. mentors on an appropriate research project.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related engineering discipline with evidence of strong interest in research.

The postdoctoral fellow will complete a program designed to provide each candidate with a unique set of capabilities to succeed as a rehabilitation researcher. The elements of the training program are: 1) a core research project, 2) research design didactics, 3) biostatistics coursework, 4) ethics and legal issues, 5) grantsmanship and scientific writing, 6) health care technologies management training, 7) workshop training, 8) clinical training rotation, 9) scientific meeting attendance, and 10) cross-disciplinary teaching. The capstone experience for the postdoctoral trainees will be the submission of an extramural proposal.
