Postdoctoral Position at UCDavis

A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Anatomy,
Physiology and Cell Biology in the School of Veterinary Medicine, at the
University of California, Davis to study the mechanobiology of bone and
cartilage. The successful candidate will use biomechanical skills, cell and
molecular biology tools and/or electrophysiological techniques to
investigate how cells sense and respond to biophysical signals. Areas of
interest include cell mechanics, mechanosensing at the cell membrane, in
particular the roles of candidate mechanosensitive ion channels, effects of
mechanical stimulation on intracellular signaling cascades, gene expression
and ultimately bone and cartilage function. A Ph.D. and/or M.D. is required
and preference will be given to applicants with a proven record in
musculoskeletal research. Background in cell and molecular biology,
electrophysiology or biomechanics is preferable. Please send CV and names of
three references to: cyellowley@ucdavis.edu. UCDavis is located in
California’s Central Valley close to Sacramento and accessible to San
Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Napa Valley and the Sierra Nevada.
