NATIONAL CENTRE FOR BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING SCIENCE

The National Centre for Biomedical Engineering Science (NCBES) is an
interdisciplinary Research Institute at the National University of Ireland,
Galway, that brings together engineers, IT specialists, physicians and
scientists in a shared, team-based and problem-centred approach to
Biomedical Engineering Science. Applications are invited for the following
positions.

SENIOR RESEARCHER/POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER
A senior researcher/postdoctoral researcher position (up to four years), to
perform research on and to lead a major research project in the area of
musculoskeletal biomechanics, that will include macro-level, micro-level and
cellular level computational modelling of bone and cartilage, use of rapid
prototyping technology for physical model generation, and mechanical testing
of tissue and physical models. Ideally, applicants will have significant
expertise in computational mechanics modelling of materials.
Applicants will ideally have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, materials
engineering or biomedical engineering, or in a related discipline. To be
appointed at Senior Researcher level, the applicant must have at least three
years postdoctoral experience. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
