A few corrections to the instructional video links:

The Kuo link to robotics should be:

http://www-personal.engin.umich.edu/~artkuo/Passive_Walk/passive_walking.html

or more simply:

http://www-personal.engin.umich.edu/~artkuo.

Andy Ruina's page can be accessed directly:
http://tam.cornell.edu/~ruina

It includes links to:
a) Cornell's tinkertoy walker (walks but cannot stand),
b) A Cornell made imitation of McGeer kneed walker,
c) A passive walker biped with arms and knees, and
d) A powered biped (walks on level ground) (BTW: the Cornell
folks believe this robot is more efficient and more natural
looking than any other powered biped, and from what I have
seen, I tend to agree).
