View Full Version : 3D MRI data into IGIS format for FEA

Does anyone know the easiest way to input the 3D shape of a bone into ANSYS
for FEA? The bone is isolated and clean (not in situ) and approximately 15cm
long.

I have access to MRI data for the bone and could possibly obtain the height
profile by performing a raster scan with a laser displacement transducer, but
I'm not sure how to get either set of data into the IGIS file type so that it
may be input into the program.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Kris
