Hello all,

I would like to use motion capture to estimate the location of center of
mass (COM) in the trunk/torso during treadmill walking. I was wondering if
anyone could suggest a way to do so using bony surface landmarks or some
other methods. Using anthropometric data (Winter), the COM location in the
frontal plane can be estimated, but I haven't found any references
regarding its location in the sagittal plane. Alexandrov et al (2001) uses
center of pressure data to "correct" Winter's estimates, but COP will only
tell us about COM of the entire body, not just the torso.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,
