Toward that end, you may be interested in the following opening.


Intrinsic Therapeutics is a well-funded medical device start-up in the spine
market developing a novel therapy for the treatment of low back pain and
sciatica. Among our current job opportunities, we have an opening in R&D for
a Product Development Project Manager.

Open Position: Project Manager
Job Status: Full-time/permanent
Reports to: VP, R&D

Design novel spinal implants that meet specifications determined by
literature research and interaction with customers (surgeons)
Manage outside vendors in developing appropriate manufacturing
process for novel spinal implants that incorporate polymers (e.g.,
hydrogels, polycarbonates, etc.)
Work with test engineers and vendors to develop effective testing
means (bench-top and cadaveric physical testing, as well as possibly FEA)
and interpret results
Manage (and participate in) iterative prototyping of implants and
delivery instruments for use in bench-top and cadaver testing
Interface with instrument/implant engineers to ensure effective co-
development of projects proceeding in parallel
Document the development process according to FDA- (and other
regulatory bodies') acceptable protocols, as determined by QA/RA staff

Minimum requirements:
Five years of medical device product development experience.
Background in polymer chemistry
Ability to communicate effectively (on a technical and a personal
basis) with co-workers, vendors and potential customers

Ideal skillset:
Experience with development and manufacturing of medical implantable
Experience with the entire product development life-cycle of an
implantable medical device
Experience with spinal biomechanics

Salary commensurate with experience
