The Physical Therapy Program at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (UW-L) seeks applicants for a 12-month tenure-track appointment (associate/assistant professor) with primary responsibilities in the instruction of prosection/dissection-based anatomy for physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant and nurse anesthesia students. The PT program is part of the Department of Health Professions. All programs in the Department of Health Professions http://www.uwlax.edu/sah/health-professions/, College of Science and Allied Health are fully accredited and include:
* Physical therapy: currently awards a masters entry-level degree and is seeking authorization to implement an entry-level DPT degree;
* Occupational Therapy: transitioning to offering a masters degree;
* Physician Assistant: partnership with Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center and Mayo Clinic (Rochester) currently offering a masters degree;
* Nurse Anesthesia: a graduate program that is a partnership between the UW-L Biology Department and Franciscan Skemp Healthcare - Mayo Health System; and
* Radiation Therapy: an undergraduate degree.
The Department of Health Professions is located in a $27 million state-of-the-art Health Science Center (HSC) built by the La Crosse Medical Health Science Consortium, which consists of five La Crosse organizations: 2 universities (UW-L; Viterbo); Western Wisconsin Technical College; and two medical centers (Gundersen/Lutheran and Franciscan Skemp Health Care - Mayo Health System).
The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, founded in 1909, is one of 13 four-year campuses in the University of Wisconsin System. It offers approximately 80 majors, minors and special programs for undergraduates in business, education, the sciences, the arts, health science, recreation, physical education, and liberal studies. Twenty-one graduate programs are available. About 8,000 students attend classes on the compact, 119-acre campus.
La Crosse (pop. 51,000) is set among scenic bluffs along the winding Mississippi River on the Minnesota/Wisconsin border. Located approximately 2 hours from Minneapolis to the northwest and Madison, Wisconsin to the southeast, La Crosse enjoys small-town charm with larger city benefits. Densely-wooded coulees (gorges between bluffs), three rivers, and lush marsh provide prime locales for running, skiing, hunting, fishing, skating, boating, camping, biking and other outdoor pursuits. In addition to UW-L, La Crosse is home to Viterbo University and Western Wisconsin Technical College.

Minimum Requirements:
* Earned doctoral degree in anatomy or other related fields of study;
* Demonstrated ability to teach anatomy;
* Ability to teach additional health-profession coursework;
* Ability to develop and maintain a program of scholarship;
* Good communication, organization, and interpersonal skills; and
* Able to work independently and successfully collaborate with colleagues and students.
Preferred Attributes: The Anatomy faculty position applicant must possess all minimum requirements. The following attributes are desirable but not required:
* Prior teaching experience in a health related program;
* Ability to assume additional teaching responsibilities in areas of interest such as neuroanatomy, radiography, histology, or embryology
* Post-doctoral experience in anatomy, biology, anthropology, or other related fields of study; and
* Active professionally at the local, state and/or national levels.
