The Applied Neuromuscular Biomechanics Laboratory at
the National Rehabilitation Hospital is devoted to the
study of musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and sensory
disorders associated with stroke and spinal
cordinjury. The lab is made up of faculty members and
students from the Department of Biomedical Engineering
at Catholic University, and therapists and clinicians
from the National Rehabilitation Hospital. Current
projects underway include robotic-assisted gait
training in sub-acute stroke patients, studying motor
impairment in the lower limb of hemiparatic stroke
patients, robotic-assessment of walking function, and
much more. We combine experimental results with
mathematical models and simulations to better
understand the mechanisms of motor impairments, in
hopes of developing new interventions for treating

Job Duties:
We are currently seeking a research physical therapist
to join our laboratory. This position involves
assisting in running experiments, subject recruitment,
participation in data collection and analysis,
maintaining current IRB documents, other general
administrative responsibilities. Strong interpersonal
skills and motivation are required. Knowledge of PC
computers and understanding of web page design
is preferred.

Job Experience:
Candidates with a degree in Physical Therapy, or
related field are encouraged to apply. Research
experience, while not necessary, is preferred.
