Chair, Department of Health, Exercise, and Sport Sciences



Applications are sought from individuals interested in chairing a
Department of Health, Exercise, and Sport Sciences with 23 full-time and
12 part-time faculty who share a commitment to teaching, research, and
service. A sustained record of achievement in each of these areas and a
clear conception of the role of a chair are required. We are seeking a
visionary chair who can lead the department to continue to develop its
potential. Administrative experience in an academic setting with an
appreciation and understanding of the diverse disciplines of health,
exercise, and sport sciences is desirable.



The department enrolls 720 undergraduates who select degree programs in
exercise and sport sciences or health. Graduate students in an M.S.
program enroll in diverse tracks within exercise and sport sciences and
sports health. Our graduate programs have been endorsed by leading
professional organizations. The department participates in a Ph.D.
program in Exercise Physiology with the Texas Tech University Health
Sciences Center. More information can be found at

Texas Tech University, a doctoral research extensive institution,
enrolls approximately 28,500 students in a diverse array of
undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. It shares its
campus with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, a
city of about 200,000 residents that features a low cost of living and
an outstanding climate.
