DESCRIPTION: The Department of Kinesiology is seeking to fill two
tenure-track positions for the fall 2005 with rank and salary
commensurate with experience and education. Individuals with expertise
in Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, or Pedagogy are encouraged to
apply. General responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and
graduate courses in Kinesiology; develop a competitive research program;
participate in the masters and doctoral programs, and advise students;
provide service to the profession, the university, and the community.
Date of appointment for positions is September 1, 2005. The University
of Texas at El Paso has approximately 19.000 students, and offers 60
bachelors, 61 masters, and 16 doctoral degrees, UTEP Athletics
participates in the NCAA Division I with 9 women's and 5 men's sports.
The Department of Kinesiology offers BS and MS degrees to approximately
350 undergraduate and 40 graduate students, is part of the College of
Health Sciences Inter-disciplinary PhD, and is known for employing
innovative teaching strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: An earned doctorate (ABD considered but must
be completed by time of employment) in Kinesiology, Exercise Science,
Pedagogy, or related field. Demonstrated ability to conduct research
and secure external funding. Experience with teaching physical
education in elementary and/or secondary schools and/or post-doctoral
experience is preferred. Ability to work cooperatively in a
multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary setting.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience and education.
