KESSLER MEDICAL REHABILITATION RESEARCH AND EDUCATION CORPORATION
located in WEST ORANGE, NJ currently has the following position
available in support of its Rehabilitation Engineering Department
and the Rehabilitation Engineering Analysis Laboratory (REAL).


Position: Biomechanical Engineer

There is an opening in the Rehabilitation Engineering Analysis
Laboratory (REAL) for a talented engineer/bioengineer. The laboratory
conducts research in rehabilitation medicine with a range of projects,
including studies focused on understanding and treating neuromuscular
disabilities and frailty. A current area of research is the analysis and
experimental measurement of the mechanics of postural stability with
goals to refine methods of balance screening and to develop techniques
for improving stability. For these studies, the laboratory uses a VICON
motion analysis system, AMTI force plates, multi-channel EMG, and a
NeuroCom research balance platform. Balance models have been developed
using programs such as Mathematica. The position involves motion data
collection, reduction and analysis; assist with protocol development for
data collection and research studies; assist with data processing using
various software applications; and assist with the preparation of
publication manuscripts and conference presentations.

Minimum Requirements:

- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering,
Biomechanics or Biomaterials.

- Background in biomechanics or human movement analysis.

- LabView Programming Experience (C programming experience desirable).

- Familiarity running instrumentation-based research protocols and
structural modeling or materials testing is highly desirable.

- Physical requirements of the position may require the lifting
and transferring patients/subjects
