Job Description:

* Investigate new technologies in spine mechanics and identify
future areas of research
* Convert new concepts into products that meet the needs of
our customers
* Take lead in defining and executing the scientific pathway
from product concept to feasibility
* Develop research plans including design of experiments, test
protocols, and timelines.
* Collect data to justify feasibility of new technology
candidates for further development
* Ensure quality and integrity of scientific evidence
throughout R&D process.
* Work with Marketing and R&D teams to identify functional
requirements for new products
* Generate data to support claims for marketing and regulatory
clearance as needed
* Compile and review relevant literature as it pertains to
current projects
* Author research papers for submission to scientific
conferences and journals
* Work with a sense of urgency


* Ph.D. in Life Science or Biomedical Engineering required.
* Minimum two years work experience in technical position with
a medical device, biotechnology or similar setting
* Preferred experience in tissue engineering, osteobiologics,
biomechanics and / or spinal orthopaedics.
* Exceptional communication skills (oral and written).
* Ability to take initiative and work independently.
* Excellent interpersonal and follow up skills.
* Must maintain a ?find a way? attitude and not be intimidated
by initial failures.

Hiring Range: $59,279 - $79,123
