Research Engineer II

Associates in Research&Technology work together on many program areas, but
it is envisioned that one of these positions will initially primarily support
specification, research and testing of Dynamic Stabilization concepts, and
the other will primarily support specification, research and testing of
Interspinous concepts. The Research Engineers in these positions will specify
performance and design criteria for new devices and treatments, interpret test data
from biomechanical, cadaveric, and animal studies, and analyze and verify
design concepts. The successful Research Engineers will support spinal product
development efforts across the company by formulating, specifying, conducting
and managing benchtop testing as well as preclinical cadaveric and animal
studies. They will also conceptualize spinal treatments for addressing future
needs, and establish, initiate and manage feasibility studies.

The Research Engineers will contribute to communication within the group,
the company, and in the greater scientific and surgical community by writing
reports and white papers, making technical presentations to Project Teams and
writing/coauthoring manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication. The Engineers

training of the sales force and other associates, lead intellectual property
development efforts, and participate in scientific conferences and standards
specification activities.
